State of Decay was a big deal when it launched back in 2013 on the online Xbox Live Arcade store, and it's now sold over 2 million copies. Unlike most other zombie games like Dead Island, Dead Rising, Dead Space, Call of Duty Zombies, and Red Ded Redemption: Undead Nightmare, State of Decay focuses on more than just the adrenaline rush of combat. The game requires that you that you scavenge for supplies and manage resources, upgrade your base of operations, and keep your survivors mentally and physically healthy. So given all the updates the series has now received, was this promise of depth within the overcrowded zombie genre actually fulfilled? Did State of Decay 2 adequately improve upon the foundation and earn its fanbase of millions and millions of players?
