OPINION: Review scores? Good riddance

These days, I really don't think I could ever be bothered doing a straight video review of anything again (not that I have in a LONG time), but in particular, I really can't be bothered doing reviews of games.

Now when it comes to covering games, some folks are more interested in the mechanical side of things, focusing on the nitty-gritty as to why some things work and why other things don't. Other folks are interested in the storytelling experiences games can provide as a medium. These are all valid reasons to enjoy a work, and to see their breakdowns as to why they feel the way they do makes for insightful, engaging and enlightening content.

I, on the other hand, go off the "VIBE-O-METER" (I swear it isn't a sex toy), which is totally dictated by whatever I say it is at a given point in time, and I will not argue the point with anyone for it is objective 100% of time until I say it's not.

My reasons for liking or disliking something are often jumbled, confused, contradictory and stupid, but sometimes things just VIBE while other things don't.

Perfect example: DooM Eternal is a game that's got a great gameplay loop, it looks stunning and has a neat soundtrack. I also generally couldn't give much of a damn about it one way or the other.

DooM 3 on the otherhand has a weaker gameplay loop, it does the song and dance with the monster closet way too much and the game probably overstays it's welcome a fair bit. BUT IT FUCKING VIBES HARD, so it's obviously in my top 10 favorite games of all time.

Does it makes sense? Nah. Do I care enough to argue with some moron over the web as to whether I am objectively right on whatever matter I am speaking on regarding media? Hell no. Why would I waste time on folks who clearly never consulted the VIBE-O-METER?

Basically I don't care to answer whether a piece of media is 'good' or 'bad' (Illbleed is in my top 3 favorite games, I'm not sure I was ever a good person to ask), at least not in any constructive sort of way. I ultimately find writing that sorta thing tiring and have felt that way for a long time.

I just wanna talk about cool stuff, and if you don't find the cool stuff cool, I dunno, fuck off. I don't care to even see your reasoning, I never asked and I never will (P.S. This is not me saying you can't critique my videos or my blunders, keep doing that).

TLDR: The lines between gold and shit are blurred here, much like my standard definition VHS footage. If things are on the channel, it's because they vibe with me, and if they aren't it's either cause they don't or I just haven't gotten around to them yet.
