Blair Witch - It Should Have Been A Different Game | GAME REVIEW

It’s been a few years since the events in The Blair Witch Project, and you play as a former police officer and army veteran, Ellis Lynch. A 9 year old boy named Peter Shannon has gone missing in the Black Hills Forest and you join a search party looking for him. Only, Ellis is forced to confront his worst demons as he becomes increasingly entangled in the haunted woods of Black Hills Forest.

If you grew up in the late 80’s and early 90’s then you might have experienced a taste of the phenomenon that was The Blair Witch Project--a movie that is largely responsible for ushering in a new age of found-footage horror movies.

In this review, I’m going to explain what Blair Witch did well, what it didn’t do well. And where, conceptually, this game is a missed opportunity and why. Because, there was a lot of potential here to do something interesting with Blair Witch, and while I also think it made sense for Bloober Team to develop this game, at the same time, it didn’t make sense. We’ll talk about why. And we’ll talk about what it should have been.
